In today’s world, Wi-Fi isn’t just something we want — it’s something we need. Whether it’s for working from home, streaming entertainment, running smart home devices, or preparing for a solar installation, your internet signal needs to reach more than just your living room.
This week, we visited a beautiful hobby farm tucked away on Vancouver Island. The customer had a forward-thinking request: make the entire property Wi-Fi ready before solar installation and other tech upgrades roll out. With several structures — including a barn, workshop, and future solar gear — spread across the land, they needed a wireless solution that could grow with them.
That’s where First Born Son Home Services comes in.
After walking the site and reviewing their needs, we decided eero was the right fit for this property. Its fast setup, rock-solid performance, and reliable mesh coverage made it the ideal choice for creating consistent Wi-Fi throughout the home and outbuildings.
While this job was an eero win, we regularly work with a full range of networking systems depending on the project, including:
UniFi access points for large properties or commercial-grade demands
Netgear Orbi systems for high-speed performance over wide areas
Google Nest Wi-Fi for smart home integration and simplicity
The result? The customer now has a future-ready network that reaches all corners of the property — from the main house to the barn doors — ready to support cameras, solar controls, smart home gear, and even a little music streaming while tending to the animals.
Oh, and yes, one of the horses insisted on being in the shot. No complaints from us.
The takeaway: whether you’re planning solar, upgrading security, or just tired of watching the Wi-Fi spin, we’ve got the tools and experience to help — no matter how big or small your space is.
If your signal doesn’t reach where life happens, we’re here to fix that.
