When I started First Born Son Home Services, it was out of a true passion for electronics, gadgets, and smart home technology. I’ve always believed in working smarter, not harder — a mindset shaped by over 20 years of experience with the Kaizen philosophy of continuous improvement. But over time, I discovered that this business is about more than just installing cool devices. It’s about helping people.
As a home automation and electronics installation specialist based in the Comox Valley, I’ve come to see just how powerful technology can be when it’s used to solve everyday problems — especially for those who may feel left behind by it.
For example, I’ve worked with seniors and individuals with hearing impairments to make watching TV enjoyable again, using audio strategies and smart TV setups that work for them. I’ve helped families discover simple, reliable smart home solutions to enhance security, improve convenience, and even provide peace of mind when caring for aging parents.
These aren’t just installations — they’re transformations. I’ve seen the impact that the right tech setup can have. Clients tell me it’s a “game changer.” That’s what drives me.
At First Born Son Home Services, our mission is to make home technology accessible, personal, and practical — especially for those who didn’t think it could work for them. Whether it’s setting up a whole-home smart lighting system, integrating voice assistants, customizing smart security, or finding creative ways to support mobility or accessibility needs, I love showing people what’s possible.
Technology can feel overwhelming. My job is to simplify it — and to help customers discover solutions they didn’t know existed.
So yes, I do this because I love gadgets and automation. But more than that? I do it because nothing beats the feeling of helping someone solve a problem, gain confidence, and live more comfortably in their own home.
If you’re looking for a local expert in smart home installations who cares about the why just as much as the how, let’s talk.
